Counterplay

Counterplay is magnificent. When a club packed up with galacticos, planeticos and other ronaldo-alike-starticos is losing to an average club from an average division due to a tricky defs that forgot their suntan somewhere, that’s either luck or counterplay. Or counter-attack-based gameplay; well, that’s actually the same :)

Legendary derby for the throne of football simulation is on the go again. A great couple from masterfully kit-packed and nice FIFA 06: this time it’s:

•FIFA 06 Champions League Popups Pack, a new good feature for your old good FIFA: more beauty in the menus and a slight rebranding of information about formation (poetry! fuc… romance in the springtime :))

•NK FIFA 06 Gameplay Update 4.0, very popular among those who find PES not realistic, not charming, not glamorous and not blah-blah, but really would enjoy a severe PES-action in a friendly FIFA 06. Makes it harder, though, it doesn’t make it completely another game; well, probably downloading tiny 190Kb is worth it.

And a counter-attack by PES – a short and lightweight video of WE10/PES 6, made even more lightweight with the help of the f-site! Kunhuasun by Konami; nothing extraordinary, but another 12Mb for your internet traffic holds info about:

•new teams and nationals;

•Santiago Bernabeu! A real Real stadium in PES!;

•new balls and a bit new graphics;

•transfer system changed and rosters are adequate;

•a round robin for „International challenge“ mode and a completely new and mysterious mode, codename „Quickmatch with a random team“;

•Matthew’s trick (a football one :));

•even more tactics and formations preferences;

•new system for FKs and new keyboard combinations (e.g. D+E+S+A+W+C+Z; it rarely works but if does, it’s gotta be one Goddamn kick!);

•and, finally, refs become more humanistic; probably the greatest thing to be changed :)

So, who’s the winner in the small brawl, FIFA or PES? Guess who is to decide ;)
