| Dead can dancingFrankly speaking, the finalist #2 in the sequence must not have been like it really was. Well, just mustn’t. Zidane, Thuram, Makelele – even Figo from the non-finalist #2 in the sequence (I’m actually pretty amazed Desailly wasn’t there :)) – all of them must have already been piling up some money in Catar or Chelsea (sometimes I tend to build up hypotheses about Roman’s Arabic roots in his genealogic tree), must have been busy bringing up their children and just have fun. However, the keep on playing. And they rock. And Zizoo rocks a bit more that others. Those old and greyhaired messiahs helped their national teams a lot – Figo, again Zidane, Larsson, Onopko (how come u’ve no idea of Onopko?) But Zidane is really something. Well, for sure, he didn’t really that much in the semifinals (actually, France did nothing after scoring the penalty), but Zineddine sometimes remind Yorke. When Dwight’s T&T teammates had no idea what to do, they just gave a ball to him. Same is with la France. But Portugal really opened the diving season in that semi, as if they had some hush and the pitch became a still pool, deep enough for C. Ronaldo to dive the whole game along. Well, whatever. That’s gotta be a clash on both 8th and 9th. Somehow, I bet on Portugal. Just because. And on France. Just because Zizoo might have lost speed, agility, and some technics. But the respect is probably the only thing Zineddine Zidane is never to lose.
